When Next We Meet: a Cranna Festival

When Next We Meet is a boutique festival that set its roots in Clonmel in the summer of 2022. A shared artist and audience experience that aimed  to reshape the way in which artists and audiences interact. An event that will leave you feeling a part of something very special and no doubt wanting more. We had the absolute pleasure of working closely alongside the inspiring and talented Eoin Hally and Kate Twohig as they launched this brand new, contemporary/alternative Irish festival.

At the core of the project are several ideas: decency and no cutting corners; artists and music industry workers being valued as guests; and atmosphere, collaboration and community in which artistic exchange happens between all those attending and playing. One way in which we’ve been visually conceptualising these ideas is by creating a brand full of life, diversity and joy. Playful type is at the heart of this high-spirited identity, complimented by vibrant colours and scribbly,  illustrative accents. In the beginning, we were given visual cues that tied to the events location and venue. Cranna, the title aptly given to next years setting in the insanely scenic country side in South Tipperary, is the Irish word which describes an abundance of trees. This title lovingly acted as our first touch point on how to approach the branding. We found a way to show appreciation for the beautiful natural setting and the trees that hug the landscape through lettering with imperfections and organic features.
